Bella's Grand Entrance.....

What a wonderful day! Isabella Flor Romero was born March 18, 2010 at 4:54 p.m. and weighed 7lbs 15 oz! I was induced at around 1 AM that day and the rest is history. Terry was by my side the whole time as we anxiously awaited her arrival. I watched my favorite movie, Home Alone, and ate so many popsicles I got sick! When it came time to push, I had 3 coaches by my side---Terry, Amber, and Mom. I pushed 3 times and she was here! I actually got to deliver her myself---I don't want to get too technical, but I actually reached down and pulled her onto my chest!(the doctor was there, by the way) What an amazing experience, to see this beautiful little girl laying in my arms... I did it. I told myself the whole time, "You can do this" and it all worked out. It was nothing like I imagined it to be. After I had her, I was ready to push out 3 more! It was like a high.
Isabella was born with fluid in her lungs; she was blue all over and had difficulty breathing. The nurses cared for her right away, but it wasn't enough. She had to stay in the nursery on oxygen for 4 days. When you dream about your first child being born, you never imagine something going wrong. It was extremely scary to think that we could lose her. She received a blessing and we put our faith in the Lord's hands. We tried not to fill our days with tears. I was extremely emotional, especially because I was not able to nurse her right away. The nurses were very supportive; though, and after the second day, I was able to nurse her every 2 hours. Terry and I set our alarm and went in the nursery to see her and feed her, even through the night. It was an experience I will never forget. On the 5th day, the neonatologist assessed Isabella, and decided she was well enough to room in with us! They put her bassinet in my hands and said, "Off you go!" This was the first time I really felt like a mother. She was MY child and I was taking her to MY room. I can still picture that hallway as I rolled her down to my room. The joy I felt was overwhelming.
The Lord blessed Isabella with strength and she was able to persevere. I am forever grateful for the experience I had. It made me a stronger woman. I was able to put my faith in His plan and trust Him. I am grateful for my family and the love and support they gave Terry and I. We are so blessed to have this beautiful little lady in our lives. The adventures begins!

2009 Year in Review

So much has happened this past year that I have been way too busy to update my blog! I am just going to go through and update on some important events that happened in our lives...

MOM TURNED 50!!! We went down to Florida to celebrate her 50th birthday and Amber's baby shower!
Terry has been very active playing soccer, football and basketball! I went to all of his soccer games!

We raced down to Florida to welcome little Oliver to this world.. Terry and I made it before they left the hospital...

The Beatty's and Epperson's came to visit... which is always important and exciting for us because we miss our family everyday! While they were visiting Terry and I took a pregnancy test and.... IT WAS POSITIVE!!!!!!! MOM did not find out until later!

In August, we visited Florida again for Oliver's blessing..jhon's bday... and to tell the rest of the family the BIG NEWS!!!! We surprised MOM and DAD Beatty and The whole Romero Family. It was exciting and we got it all on video!!!!
Thanksgiving was our first at home... I made a 30lb turkey and lots of food!!!!!! Carrie and her daughter came over to eat dinner with us.

And last but not least... CHRISTMAS! Terry and I planned a trip to Venezuela (bought the tickets and everything) to visit family. At the last minute we decided not to go because of my pregnancy. $1000 down the tubes! But, it was worth being able to spend so much time with our families in Florida. It was a BIT stressful, but we love each and every one. We can't even imagine how it will be when we actually have the baby...
